History
The Shabbaton, also known as Pegisha, was initiated by the Lubavitcher Rebbe in 1962. He invited Jewish people from far and wide to gather in New York to celebrate and experience Shabbat in the authentic Chassidic neighborhood of Crown Heights. Over the years, thousands of people have connected through the experience.
Since the late 60′s, Lubavitch Youth Organization (LYO) has put on four shabbatons a year. Each gathering has had a different theme.

In 2011, a new category of shabbaton was created…the Young, Jewish Professional Shabbaton. Momentum has grown fast in what has become a grassroots movement of communities around the nation.
We invite you to join us in what promises to be a premier Shabbat event for Jewish professionals around North America.
